Meet The Team

Heidi Wanjala
Ministry Assistant
Heidi served as a summer missionary in Dauphin County for two summers while attending Bob Jones University as a music major. She fully intended to continue her education in pursuit of a Master’s degree, but between her junior and senior years, God enabled Heidi to serve on two different ministry teams and confirmed that He wanted her to follow Him into full-time ministry. The following summer, God brought Heidi back as a summer missionary to Philadelphia County. After finishing her degree in January of 2009, Heidi moved to Philadelphia to serve with Child Evangelism Fellowship of Philadelphia County, Inc. and has continued since then only to the praise of God’s glorious mercy and grace.

Christina Vung
Part time
Christina is a Burmese refugee who has lived in the United States for the past eight years. During this time, she has worked for the immigrant community in the after-school and summer programs as well as provided immigrant services for new refugees. She has also been heavily involved in both the youth and children’s ministries at her church. In the summer of 2017, God gave Christina a desire to attend our Summer Missionary Training School so that she would be better able to teach the Word of God to the children in the Burmese community. After attending Summer Missionary Training School, God spoke to Christina and showed her that serving Him had to be at the heart of her daily life. At the same time, He began giving her a greater burden for the salvation of those within the immigrant community and revealing to her how her job prevented her from sharing what was most important with them – the GOSPEL.
We thank God for Christina and the way He is using her to connect us with the immigrant community in South Philadelphia.
